FMB Award win

Award-winning excellence for every room in your home

On Friday we experienced an evening of unparalleled success in the history of our company.

With the Covid-19 crisis bringing 15 difficult months for us all we were delighted and blessed to win not just one, but four highly prestigious Federation Of Master Builder Cymru Awards. In addition, our entry for Building Firm Of The Year was also acknowledged as a highly commended runner up.

Since 1999, the Master Builder Awards has been a flagship for high-quality building work, showcasing examples of fantastic craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and building excellence.

Browse through these stunning projects that cover every area of home transformation.

Medium Renovation Project Winner

Llwyn Onn

This breath-taking renovation has produced an open-plan paradise bathed in natural light thanks to the dual lantern roof windows. The project was a complete renovation that included a new Sunroom, kitchen, bathroom, and wrap-around double extension providing an abundance of space.

The sunroom contains three main living zones and a functional set of bi-fold doors that beckons visitors outside the patio space for true “In & Out Living”.

A new underfloor heating system ensures energy efficiency, with an LED lighting system offering a choice of uplighting, downlighting and floodlighting via the specially designed canopy installed above the central kitchen island.

The heating and lighting all run from a Hive system for convenience and efficiency, including underfloor heating.

“Our ‘house’ has undergone such a transformation and has now become our forever ‘home’. Russell and his team have been nothing short of professional, trustworthy and supportive from start to finish.

Never in our wildest dreams could we have envisaged a ‘home’ like this, but Excel have made it happen. Our fantastic new open plan space has created a new style of ‘living’ which we love.” – Nikki and Jason

Kitchen Project Winner

Station Road

This stunning kitchen design doubles as an entertainment space for the client’s friends and family, replete with clever storage options and made-to-measure units, all arranged around a central breakfast bar.

This focal point also boasts a bespoke canopy and hob cooking area, as well as a newly installed LED lighting system.

Opposite the kitchen, a specially designed TV cabinet also incorporates a custom-made wine rack. Colour-contrasting quartz work surfaces and a lovely timber-effect tile floor complete a beautiful kitchen that is sure to ‘wow’ guests for years to come.

The kitchen was an important zone for the customers who wanted a chic, modern look with the functionality to cook, entertain and congregate together all in one. The patio could be easily accessed via the large, sliding doors for In & Out Living.
